Robin van der Schaaf

Robin van der Schaaf immigrated from Holland in 1994 to begin his career at Sun Valley in Arcata, CA, where he managed the Freesia program along with various other crops.

In 1996, he moved to Southern California to join Flamingo Holland, a flower bulb import company, as the warehouse and quality control manager. A few years later, when a sales position opened, Robin stepped into the role, bringing his expertise to a new level. By 2009, he had risen to General Manager, expanding the company’s product offerings, and growing its customer base.

For the past three years, Robin has served as the West Coast Sales Manager for 2Plant and Growing Colors, working closely with cut flower growers as well as small to mid-sized flowering perennial growers. His role has taken him to farms throughout the Pacific Northwest, a region well suited to the plants he represents. Through these experiences, he has built strong relationships with growers, gaining valuable insights into their needs and challenges.

Beyond his professional life, Robin is a devoted family man. His daughter is a student-athlete at Long Beach State, where she plays beach volleyball, while his son, a high school sophomore, enjoys wrestling. Passionate about the floral industry, Robin loves visiting flower farms, learning about their operations, and finding ways to support their success.
