The season premiere of Life In Bloom on public television (PBS) is just days away - including free streaming access on the free PBS App - for all devices including smart TV’s! The first episode becomes available April 1, with a new episode dropping each week after. Dedicated traditional television viewers can look up their public television station at uBloom.com/find - by entering their zip code and service provider.

“Viewers have heard the call to relax with flowers, enjoying their health and wellness benefits in the process! And I’m beyond excited for them to see the new season!” said J.

“There are so many memorable moments in the new season,” says J. “New visits to California Flower Farms and markets, an interview with Flower Legend Phil Rulloda, AIFD, we travel to Hawaii to learn about Lei Day (May 1st), and we even visit the filming studio of PBS Icon Bob Ross – where I had the opportunity to interpret one of his original paintings in Flowers! So exciting!”

J enjoyed the time filming in California. “We started at FBI Flowers with Frank, Jennifer, and George Biddle and an incredible mountain-top farm that was so beautiful – almost as beautiful as the flowers they shared, including incredible Boronia, which was still in season and fragrant, I might add!” said J. “There’s nothing like arranging flowers in nature, at a mountain-top flower farm!”

“We had a wonderful time at Kendall Farms, as Troy Conner and the team toured our crew, showcasing all of the innovations they have developed for flower farming – so much fascinating technology and ingenuity at work,” continued J. “We also filmed at the Original L.A. Flower Market for a visit with Bob Mellano to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mellano & Co. – so endearing to hear the stories of how they started a century ago!”

“My former assistant and make-up artist, Aimie, joined us at the market as well to discuss how flowers are always a top contender for Product and Photo Styling in her new career as a stylist for product photo shoots,” said J.

Season 7 includes a two-part episode filmed on location in Hawaii, thanks in part to a grant from the Hawaiian Landscape and Nursery Association, where J celebrates Lei Day and learns about lei traditions and culture. “I made so many new friends in preparing for filming on Lei Day – the Aloha Spirit is alive and well and I can’t wait for everyone to see how Flowers are at the heart of so much of the celebration!” said J.

Also, this season is a fun and spooky bonus episode titled LIFE IN GLOOM – with plenty of ideas for how to include flowers during Halloween! Notes J, “Halloween as a holiday has expanded so much in recent years - and it’s a perfect opportunity to include flowers in the festivities, so I have some great ideas for everyone!”

In addition, the season includes segments around Mason Jars, Flower Frogs, and Permanent Flowers, including an arrangement made with flowers constructed from popular building blocks. “You might say it was an idea I couldn’t LET GO of,” teased J.

“As always, I am so grateful to CalFlowers, its board, and members for their major financial support of Life in Bloom,” said J. “That support, along with our friends at Albertsons Companies, Passion Roses, and Suntory Flowers is what makes it possible to create the series.” said Schwanke.

“And I want to draw attention to our new Closed Caption Underwriter, FabulousFlorals.com,” enthused J. “We really appreciate their contribution and are excited for our viewers to be made aware of a wonderful resource for flowers!”

“Flowers do so much good for each and every one of us!” concluded J, “and it means everything for me and my team to continue to deliver the positive impact Flowers and the Flower Industry have to a nationwide audience. Thank you all, and I hope you find some time to watch and enjoy the new season. I can’t wait for the viewer reactions to begin pouring in!”
